A long-established store in Kyoto
“Tanjo Rice Store” started as a rice store in 1808 in the Edo period.I ran a rice shop for over 180 years. The store closed in 1992. As a rice shop that has been in business for over 100 years, it was awarded as a "long-established store in Kyoto" by Kyoto Prefecture. (Currently closed shop.)

Historical scenic building
It was designated by Kyoto City because the building forms a historical scenic beauty of Kyoto. On the north wall of the storehouse (facing Ebisugawa-dori), there is a plate of a historical scenic building. It is attached side by side with the plate of the designated Kyomachiya.

The buildings and gardens that color Kyoto
It has been selected by Kyoto City as one of the "buildings and gardens that color Kyoto". This is a selection of buildings and gardens that symbolize the history and culture of Kyoto that we want to preserve as assets of Kyoto. The current building was built in 1927. It is a traditional Kyomachiya and was selected.

Designated Kyomachiya
The current building was built in the early Showa period using traditional construction methods, and is over 90 years old. Selected by Kyoto City as a "Kyomachiya". A Kyomachiya plate is attached to the north wall of the storehouse (facing Ebisugawa-dori).
