Certificate of Nijo Castle
I still have a document stating that I was asked to purchase the World Heritage site "Nijo Castle". During the time of Teisaku Takeuchi, the second generation, he was asked to purchase Nijo Castle for 10,000 ryo.
There is one document of the request and two drawings of Nijo Castle. If you compare it with the current map of Nijo Castle, you can see that it is the same. In terms of time, it is probably in the early Meiji period after the restoration of Imperial rule at Nijo Castle. At that time, Tanjo Rice Store was in a position similar to that of a Kyoto rice store. Unfortunately, the sale of Nijo Castle did not go through. After that, it was given to the city of Kyoto, where it remains today.
The original is kept at the Kyoto City Historical Museum.
